Privacy Policy — Mike’s Games
Effective date: November 3, 2026
Mike’s Games respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Mike’s Games websites, mobile apps, web apps, and games, including Mike’s Sudoku, Mike’s Solitaire, Mike’s Mahjong, Mike’s Word Flower, and other games published under the Mike’s Games name.
The short version
Mike’s Games is designed to collect as little personal information as possible.
You do not need to create an account to play. Game progress, settings, statistics, achievements, and similar gameplay information are generally stored locally on your device.
For players in the United States, the web and home-screen (PWA) versions of Mike’s Games collect limited usage metrics. We record when a new game begins and when it is completed. Separately, each game keeps a random installation ID on your device that is used only to estimate how many installations are active. The installation ID is never attached to your gameplay records.
These metrics are not linked to your name, email address, or account. Raw records are deleted after 30 days.
Mike’s Games does not sell your personal information, does not use your information for targeted advertising, and does not use third-party advertising networks in its games.
Information stored on your device
Mike’s Games may store information locally on your device so that the games work properly and remember your progress.
This may include:
- game progress and saved games
- scores, times, statistics, streaks, and achievements
- game settings and preferences
- completed puzzles or Daily-game history
- tutorial or interface preferences
- other information needed to restore or continue a game
This information generally remains on your device unless you choose to export, back up, share, or otherwise send it somewhere.
The usage metrics described below are separate from your locally stored gameplay information. They do not include your saved progress, scores, times, puzzle contents, moves, words, achievements, or statistics.
For eligible U.S. web and home-screen users, each game also stores one random installation ID used only for usage measurement. No cookies are used for these metrics.
Deleting a game or clearing its local data may delete locally stored gameplay information unless you have separately created a backup.
Information you choose to provide
You may voluntarily provide information to Mike’s Games when you contact us, send feedback, report a problem, participate in testing, or otherwise communicate with us.
Depending on how you contact us, that information may include:
- your name
- your email address
- the contents of your message
- screenshots or other files you choose to send
- information about your device or game experience that you choose to provide
We use this information only to respond to you, investigate problems, improve the games, or otherwise handle the reason you contacted us.
Feedback forms
Some Mike’s Games products may link to feedback forms hosted by third-party services such as Google Forms.
If you choose to use one of these forms, the information you submit may also be processed by that service according to its own privacy policy.
Using a feedback form is optional and is not required to play the games.
Purchases and subscriptions
Some Mike’s Games products may offer paid features, subscriptions, or other purchases, including optional Supporter subscriptions where available.
Purchases and subscriptions made through Apple’s App Store or Google Play are processed by Apple or Google, respectively. Mike’s Games does not receive your complete payment-card information.
Apple or Google may provide Mike’s Games with information necessary to verify and manage a purchase or subscription, such as purchase status, transaction information, or subscription entitlement.
We use this information to provide access to purchased features, recognize active subscriptions, restore purchases, and manage subscription-related functionality.
Apple’s and Google’s handling of your information is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Subscriptions purchased through one platform do not automatically transfer to another platform unless a particular game explicitly provides that functionality.
Support and donation links
Mike’s Games may provide links to third-party services that allow players to support the games or make a voluntary contribution.
If you choose to use one of these services, information you provide is handled by that third party under its own privacy policy.
Mike’s Games does not receive your complete payment-card details from those services.
Sharing results
Some games may allow you to share scores, puzzle results, achievements, or other game information using your device’s sharing features.
Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.
Once you send information to another person, app, website, or service, its handling is governed by the recipient or service you selected.
Backups and data exports
Some Mike’s Games products, including Mike’s Sudoku, allow you to create backups of your saved game information.
Depending on the game, a backup may contain:
- saved and unfinished games or puzzles
- completed games and Daily-game history
- scores, completion times, and statistics
- progress toward achievements and trophies
- game settings and preferences
- other locally stored information needed to restore your game
Backup files are created on your device. You may choose to save, export, email, or share them using services such as Gmail, Google Drive, Apple’s sharing features, or another destination available on your device.
Mike’s Games does not automatically receive or store copies of the backups you create. Backup files are shared with other services only when you choose to send or save them through those services.
Once you send a backup to a third-party service, that service handles the file according to its own terms and privacy policy.
Some mobile versions of Mike’s Games may temporarily retain a copy of an exported backup in the app’s local cache so that the receiving application has time to copy it. These temporary files are removed during subsequent cleanup or may be removed by the operating system.
For Mike’s Sudoku, backup files do not contain payment-card information, App Store or Google Play purchase receipts, or verified subscription entitlements. Restoring a game backup does not transfer or activate a paid subscription.
Backups can be used to transfer saved game information between compatible devices and supported versions of a game, including between iOS and Android where supported.
You are responsible for choosing where to store exported backups and for protecting any copies you retain or share.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Mike’s Games does not use your personal information for targeted advertising.
Mike’s Games does not sell personal information.
Mike’s Games does not intentionally track your activity across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising purposes.
Mike’s Games collects the privacy-minimal usage metrics described below. We do not otherwise use analytics, advertising, session-replay, behavioral-tracking, or player-profiling services in our games.
If additional analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or other data-collection services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy and any applicable app store privacy information will be updated first.
Usage metrics
Who
Usage metrics are currently collected only from players in the United States using the web and home-screen (PWA) versions of Mike’s Games.
When you open a game, it asks our metrics service whether metrics apply to your request. The service determines eligibility from the country of the request but does not store that country or other request information as part of the metrics data.
If metrics do not apply, the game does not create an installation ID and sends no usage metrics.
Our App Store and other native apps do not currently send these metrics.
What is recorded
We record one gameplay event when you make your first move in a new game and another when you complete a game.
A gameplay event may contain:
- which game is being played
- the game mode, if applicable
- the difficulty, if applicable
- the app version
- the time the event was received
Gameplay records contain no installation ID or other player identifier.
The random installation ID
Each game creates a random installation ID the first time an eligible player uses the game and keeps that ID in the game’s local storage on the device.
Once per day, when you first begin playing, the game sends a separate activity record containing only:
- the game name
- the random installation ID
We also record the day the activity was received.
The installation ID is used only to estimate how many installations of a game are active.
It is not attached to gameplay records and is not used to build a profile of how you play.
It is not linked to your name, email address, account, advertising identifier, or any hardware identifier, and it is not based on your device.
Each Mike’s Game creates its own installation ID, so IDs from different Mike’s Games cannot be connected to one another.
The same person playing on two devices will count as two installations.
The installation ID is not included in game backups. Clearing the game’s website data removes it.
What is not recorded
The usage-metrics system does not record:
- your name
- your email address
- an account
- advertising identifiers
- hardware or device identifiers
- session identifiers
- puzzle contents
- individual moves
- words you enter or find
- scores
- completion times
- your gameplay history tied to an installation ID
The games do not use cookies for these metrics.
IP addresses, country or location information, and browser or device details are not stored in the Mike’s Games metrics database.
As with any internet request, our hosting provider necessarily receives your IP address and basic request information in order to deliver the request.
How long we keep usage metrics
Raw gameplay records and raw installation-activity records are deleted after 30 days.
After that, Mike’s Games keeps only aggregate statistics, such as:
- how many games were started
- how many games were completed
- how many installations were active
- general usage trends over time
These longer-term aggregate statistics do not contain installation IDs.
Your choice
There is currently no in-game setting to turn these usage metrics off.
Clearing a game’s website data removes that game’s installation ID. A new ID is created only if you later play again from an eligible location.
Website information
When you visit a Mike’s Games website, the hosting provider and other infrastructure providers may automatically receive standard technical information necessary to provide the website.
Depending on the provider, this may include:
- IP address
- browser and device type
- operating system
- date and time of a request
- pages or files requested
- basic server or security logs
This information may be processed by the hosting provider for purposes such as delivering the website, maintaining security, preventing abuse, diagnosing technical problems, and operating the service.
The same general principle applies to the service that receives our usage metrics. Mike’s Games does not store IP addresses, country or location information, or browser or device details in the metrics database.
Mike’s Games does not use this information to build advertising profiles about visitors.
Third-party websites and services
Mike’s Games products may contain links to websites or services operated by other companies.
These may include Apple, Google, feedback services, payment or support services, hosting and database providers, or other websites linked from within a game or from a Mike’s Games website.
Mike’s Games is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Children’s privacy
Mike’s Games are designed for a general audience and are not directed specifically to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, accounts, precise location, or other identifying information from children.
For U.S. web and home-screen versions, Mike’s Games uses a randomly generated installation ID solely to produce internal aggregate usage statistics as described above.
The installation ID is not used for advertising, profiling, contacting players, or tracking players across different Mike’s Games.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information directly to Mike’s Games, please contact us so that we can review the situation and, when appropriate, delete the information.
Data retention
Information stored locally by a game remains on your device until it is removed by the game, removed by you, cleared with the app or website data, or deleted when the app is uninstalled, depending on the platform.
Temporary backup files created by a mobile app may remain in the app’s cache until routine cleanup occurs or the operating system removes them. Exported copies that you save to other locations remain under your control and the policies of the services you select.
Information you voluntarily send to Mike’s Games, such as feedback or support correspondence, may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, maintain records, resolve problems, prevent abuse, or improve the games.
Raw usage-metric records are deleted after 30 days. This includes installation-activity records containing random installation IDs.
Only aggregate statistics that contain no installation IDs are kept longer so that Mike’s Games can compare overall game activity over time.
Personal information is not intentionally retained longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Data security
Mike’s Games takes reasonable steps to protect information under its control.
However, no internet transmission, electronic storage system, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Because most gameplay information is stored locally on your device, the security of that information also depends in part on the security of your device.
Exported backups may contain detailed gameplay information. We recommend storing backup files securely and sharing them only with services or people you trust.
Your privacy choices
Because Mike’s Games does not require user accounts and generally stores gameplay information locally, Mike’s Games usually does not maintain a centralized personal profile that can be accessed or deleted.
You can generally remove locally stored game information by using available reset or delete features, clearing the app or website data, or uninstalling the app.
You may also delete backup files that you have saved to your device, email, cloud storage, or other services. Deleting a local game does not automatically delete backup copies stored elsewhere.
Usage metrics are not used to create a gameplay profile. The random, per-game installation ID is used only to estimate active installations, is never attached to gameplay records, is not linked to your name, email address, or account, and is removed from raw server records after 30 days.
If you have voluntarily contacted Mike’s Games and would like to ask about personal information you provided, request its correction, or request its deletion where applicable, you may contact us using the information below.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may provide additional rights concerning personal information. Mike’s Games will honor applicable legal rights when they apply.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Mike’s Games adds new features, services, data practices, or legal requirements.
When the policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page and the effective date at the top will be revised.
